Murder, Mayhem and Pirates....NY Times

Interesting series in the NYT about how it's the Wild Wild West with no sheriff on the high seas. There are four articles in the series. The first is about two stowaways who were set adrift on a raft. The second deals with among other things, a video of four men shot to death from a Taiwanese fishing boat. The video was discovered on a cell phone left in a taxi in Fiji. (Watch out Ryan). The third is about servitude and slavery aboard fishing vessels.
Haven't read the fourth part yet. It's a far cry from our pleasant sailing experiences.

The Hiscocks, back in the 1950s, sailed up the Red Sea. It used to be a typical shortcut to the Med.

Lol! i don't think the Hiscocks would recognize those areas they cruised through today.

Fullandby it looks like the Taiwanese are some of the worst offenders.
