Propane Sensor - how does this work?

I pushed test and it made a lot of noise until I canceled it. Does anyone recognize this unit and have directions on testing / trouble shooting?

Yup, I installed one during my full-on propane system install (cooker and bulkhead heater) in our prior boat. It was reliable for the decade we owned that boat.
