Repower an Ericson 38

Is the current engine a Universal 5432? If so, what are planning on doing with it? If you plan on scrapping it let me know. I am in VA several times a year and would be happy to take it off your hands.... I'll give it a once over, regasket/reseal it, pickle it and put it in storage as a spare. RT

Repower E38

Just wanted to let you know that I bought a 1980 E 38 that had been repowerd with a Perkins 4-108, rated at 50 hp.

Its a bit of a tight squeeze, but they got it in.

Just so you know its an option.

our 1988 38 has an M50 (44hp) in it. It powers along nicely, even with our 2 blade folder. Be careful with "newer is better"... not always true. Re-build might be worth the time/effort/cash since almost that whole motor can be replaced down to the block.
