Rudder post “play”

I believe my Ericson 33RH was converted to a tiller by a PO. This means the tiller is bolted directly to top of rudder post . I recently notice the tiller has some “play” in the vertical direction ( moves up/down about 1/8” ) . I noticed this with the engine running, causing some harmonic vibration. Does anyone have a drawing of the rudder post ? My bilge is totally dry so nothing is leaking, but would like to know where the movement is .

Does your rudder have a washer on the bottom? I'm talking about one that is one the rudder post and sits on top of the rudder blade, between the rudder and the hull.

It’s possible. I’d have to dive down to check as my photos from last haul out don’t show it ..
