shift cable replacement

i have 1974 erickson 29 with a aftermarket pedestal don't know the brand but the shift and throttle cable pivots from the inside wall on the port side compartment. any help in identifing the proper cable i need and where i can purchase it would be helpful.

It's probably a "teleflex" cable. See if you can fine a number marked on the cable jacket similar to the one in the attached picture. On that cable, the "144" indicates a 144 inch, or 12 foot cable. If this doesn't help, maybe you could post a picture or two of your cable ends.

And if you have a West Marine nearby , you can just take the old cables in. My store has many such cables in stock.

Sometimes that's easier than Internet ordering if there is any ambiguity, and easier to return if they're incorrect.
