Spare Diesel Engine Presentation: Friday Feb 13 6pm Seattle

This week, I was asked to be the spare engine participating speaker for the CYC series. I'm extending the invitation to my PNW locals, and just PM me to RSVP. I'll add you to the list...but please bring potluck dinner foods.
"Join us for a facilitated discussion on getting to know your boat’s engine and what you can do to keep it running its best. We want to be able to count on your engine when we need it…and to troubleshoot issues when they arise. Learning to use a systems-approach to maintenance and troubleshooting has helped us, and we hope you may join to share your success stories."
I hope you'll bring stories of your diesel engines not starting/not stopping and in general running piss poorly...and how you (or mechanic) solved the issue.

Regarding diesel engine troubleshooting, I follow the words of author, Peter Compton
Trouble Shooting Marine Diesels (Compton, Peter)
https://g.co/kgs/oXM6iMZ
"Troubleshooting a sick diesel calls heavily on (1) experience, (2) a thorough knowledge of diesel operating principals, and ... (3) the ability to think logically."
OMG! What! I need all that?
He continues, "Don't worry if you're missing the first two!" (1 & 2). Whew! ...
"...Organize your thoughts as follows:"
As you may know, Peter Compton's book is a set of charts to follow and then really informative explanations with illustrations. If this isn't on your diesel engine shelf yet, make it there for 2026.

Jeff, my buddy, is a pro at memorizing diesel engine troubleshooting charts since his teens. We'll try to stump the chump on Friday. Join us.
