Prairie Schooner
Jeff & Donna, E35-3 purchased 7/21
After having the emergency tiller and Gusher pump handle rattle around for years I think I found a solution.

I used 3/4" PEX pipe clamps mounted to a wood strip and a nylon collar on the handle. There was a very limited angle that would allow the handle to fit when closed. Fortunately the mount didn't shift when I taped it in place for the epoxy to cure.

This fire extinguisher mount has worked out pretty well. This is up high in the lazarette, which is on starboard on our model and otherwise unused space. The tricky bit was getting the right shape and angle for that wooden wedge and shaping its back to mate with the irregular hull surface. The tiller handle is stored inside the larger tube and supported by sections of foam pipe insulation.
The yellow caps I found on Amazon are a little too big. If you know where I could get something more precisely fit, I'd appreciate the recommendation.
One of these days (years) I'll get around to painting the inside of those areas.
