I am starting a new thread since the last one morphed from is it a "US or Canada" event to potential dates and locations in the USA. Langley can support a cruise the 7-9. As previously mentioned, I believe there are 5 boats who have agreed in principle to participate if we choose that date and time. I will take the lead on putting it together if the consensus is to to ti there. I will leave it up to the collective members to come to a consensus. The harbor master said he would hold those dates until Tuesday on next week. For clarification, we are talking about Langley July 7-9.

While our plans for 2017 cruising are not totally certain, we will start to plan on Langley, for July 7 - 9.
Looks like another full day's run (?) after arriving in Pt Angeles.
(PA is our first rest-and-arrival point after transiting the coast and the Straights.)

We have never been in that part of the Sound before by boat, so our knowledge of course routing is somewhat incomplete.

Cheers,
Loren

ps: Kathy sez that there will be raffle items again. :)

Langely is an easy hop for us from Everett. Count us in too.

Count Terra Nova in for the 7th-9th. The pieces are going back together so she will be ready. Still a horrendous mess but nothing that a flat shovel can't take care of. I haven't been to Langley yet so this will be a good experience.

Loren, count on two days for the trip. The tides are rather boisterous around this area and I like to stop overnight at Pt Townsend. If you don't, this can become a real grind.

Hi All....I havent participated in a redevoouz for a number of years. With major life changes and boat changes taking place (retirement, marital status, boat overhaul, and soon to be boat ownership) get togethers with like minded vikings were not on the radar. But I am back! Valhalla will pencil in the dates for Langley this summer......woot woot! I am currently in negotiation to take sole ownership of Valhalla from my boat partners in early 2017. This will entail a location change from Shilshole to Tacoma. Keeping my fingers crossed all goes well. For those of you who havent met me in the past, there are incriminating photos of Glynn Judson and myself in our Viking headgear somewhere on this website!. Looking forward to seeing all my fellow Vikings!

Marina Called...Time to Firm Up Slip Reservations (they will start releasing them)

Duncan McPhee from Port of Langley (360-221-1120) called to say they are going start releasing slips. As of now, there are around 12 boats signed up. If anyone is has been delaying reserving, now is time to firm things up. He will start releasing them next week.

Thanks
Shaun

I called to confirm Makana's reservation. We'll be there.

(Geez, 6 weeks from tomorrow! I gotta get busy with the scrub brush!)

Ericson 35 II Brigadoon. Walt and Marty Crichlow. Land based this year, Alaska (almost) last year. Does Langley have RV parking, and could we attend without our boat? Would be fun if we can drive up.

Clicking on the town web site shows a number of nearby B&B's and other places to stay, including camping. I would call the harbor master or other local visitor information #.

Having never been to a rendezvous before.... what should I plan for? is there a typical pattern (e.g., cocktails Friday evening, pot-luck Saturday afternoon, etc.) or...?

Given that it'll be just "me", and I'm not a great cook, I want to start thinking through what I can bring to share, and anything else I should plan for...
