never would have occured to me to put jacklines on that eye instead of the bow cleats--- good idea!
I like the jackline padeye just under a tether's-length aft of the pointy end. That way you can reach the bow while clipped in, but you won't dangle as low if you slip under the lifeline. A padeye 3-feet from the rail verses one 6 inches from the rail is the difference between being able to pull yourself back aboard, and getting a full-body-pressure-wash at 6 knots. :)

I've used that plan on the back (not trying to go body boarding) but am too dumb to think about the other end...:D

That's also why I prefer a 2 ended tether.
