Gotta give these guys a good review. My OEM Motorola 51 amp starter died (I thought) on my recent cruise, and I was happy to discover they had a refurb OEM replacement in stock for me to come pick up. When I showed up, they saw mine was externally regulated and not internally regulated, so they did the swap of parts right then and there, took maybe 15-20min.
Unfortunately turned out it wasn't the alternator, but my regulator that died. But of course, they had a new Balmar ARS-5 on hand and two more Uber trips from the marina later, I had 30 amps of fresh juice getting squeezed out of a new alternator and new regulator.
The front desk / phone support guy picked up my repeated calls without complaint and walked me through the process of troubleshooting alternator vs. regulator.
