EY.o Blogging Guidelines

In 2000, I created EricsonYachts.com for the benefit of the owners of Ericson hulls. I sought information on the E35-3 myself when looking to buy, and had a great deal of difficulty - so I created this resource to help further the line to the greatest extent possible. At that time, vBulletin was a new bulletin board technology, and I trusted it to help solidify the base of information on all the Ericson models, and to create a unified discussion platform - which until that point had been utilizing email list servers and spotty single-owner websites on one boat or another.
In 2003, I began the process of returning to school for my architecture degree; so I sold my E35-3 the site was sold to Pacific Seacraft Corporation who still owned the Ericson name, logo and molds. In 2004 following a jihadist hacking of the boards, and then PSC's soon-to-follow bankruptcy, the site content was returned to me and re-branded as EricsonYachts.org - with user support.

In 2010 (I believe) vBulletin added a blogging module and we adopted it. At that time, we had no bloggers and many folks were unsure of what a blog even consisted of! Skip ahead another five years, and a number of owners had tried their hand at it, some very successfully, and the demand for blogging began to increase. As of 2017, blogging became a key component in our site - so when the search for a new platform began that year, blogging along with archiving (Resources) and images (Media) became the backbone to the new site. By 2019, the need for migration to a new platform became critical, as vBulletin was ceasing support of the vB 4x platform and I had no interest in going to vB 5x (you can read in the Feedback forums about the switch and why, etc).
That brings us up to 2020 and the upgrade to v.5.00 and the XenForo platform this past month. Whew!
Again - a huge thank you for all of the support from generous owners like you - and excellent bloggers and posters among us. It is because of you that EY.o continues to grow and flourish.
Thank you!
