Ericson 27 1976 "Lotus Flower"
Sometime around the installation of the second battery bank I installed a PakTrakr battery monitor. The PakTrakr is a fairly inexpensive monitor, not particularly robust looking and not marinized but as of this posting has been basically trouble free and a great asset. To see the functions the monitor performs check out the web site; http://www.paktrakr.com/ While I pay attention to all of the information the unit reports the most useful data are the pack voltage, amp draw (motoring), amps in (charging) and individual battery voltage. The latter probably being the most important as it lets you know if the banks are balanced.
The PakTrakr on Lotus Flower is switched so the two banks can be monitored on one display.
