Hi all,
I spoke to Sean Engle last week and he suggested I post a proper introduction. So I figured I would introduce myself and give some background history on the boat.
My name is Barry and I've been sailing all my life. My parents bought the E35-2 a few years after I was born replacing their Pearson 27. We spent a lot of time on the boat vacationing and it holds a lot of sentimental value to me. My father had been racing the boat since the day he got it. It's been raced hard and had been a neglected in the maintenance and upkeep department.
I decided about 5 years ago that i wanted this boat to stay in my family for as long as possible and took it under my wing as a personal project. I ripped up the deck in the bow and on the sides of the dog house and replaced all the balsa and put down a new fiberglass deck. There is a crack on the starboard side where i must of had a weak fiberglass lap but will be fixing that soon. Besides that spot the boat no longer leaks from the deck and is now structurally sound. I plan on posting all my work here on this blog and hope you all enjoy it as much as i will enjoy doing it. As long as I can keep a couple bucks in my pocket the work and progress should be pretty steady.
Looking forward to feedback.
Happy sailing!
