Still Out There

Still Out There

I thought of the EY.o community this week, though the sight was rather sad. A forlorn Ericson 27 washed up on the beach at Puerto Magdalena reminds us to set our anchors well and check the chafe protection regularly.

It's called "Tiki" with California registration. Can't quite make out the ghost of the previous name underneath. Most of the expensive parts have been stripped, though there is a lot of good hardware on there still. Sails and covers still bent on. Even handrail covers. (I wasn't too tempted to scavenge. The hardware is a bit too small for S/V Wild.)

So, I'm still out here. Cruising with S/V Wild and headed up into the Sea of Cortez this week.

Arcturus is still for sale. Lonely back at the dock up north under its blanket of snow and ice. A few people have looked, but it's a little hard to show from thousands of miles away. Maybe the incentive of almost a full year paid up marina slip will help.

One possibility is still to leave Wild on the hard in some boatyard down here before hurricane season, and fly back north to Arcturusfor the summer. But it's not really good for either boat to be left alone like that.

I may have posted this twice... forgot how to navigate around here!
