Port lights on Ericson 36C

One of the things I dislike the most about the Ericson 36c is the lack of opening portlights. I have searched quite a bit looking for a suitable option to replace the non-opening lexan glass with port lights that open with no luck. I have found some options that may work, yet are very expensive and I am concerned about the fit and installation.

On Yachtworld, there is a 36C for sale in Ontario that has portlights (although only 2 of the 6). It is the only example of opening portlights I have encountered on a 36C

Does anyone know the owner of "Sterling" in Mississauga, Ontario or have contact information? Or, does anyone know anything about the portlights they found and installed? Attached are some photos from the listing on Yachtworld: https://www.yachtworld.com/yacht/1977-ericson-36c-9559955/

Any possibility of adding a few small opening hatches on deck? Might work better than ports on the hull, which are more exposed than opening ports on a cabin house. .

My model has two opening ports on the cabin house, but they aren't all that effective. Much more air flow from the deck hatches.

Second on the deck prism idea. Our E31 Independence has one in the v berth. It makes quite a difference.

Others here have mentioned and recommended Port Townsend Foundry as a quality supplier of specialty metal components for yachts. They may even be familiar with "Sterling". See images 8, 9, 10 in their product gallery.

We have an Ericson 35-2 and put in stainless steel opening portlights from Newfound metals about 12 years ago. They work great. It was an easier fitting with some small adjustments. Used Butyl to seal.
