Builders plate

If any of those Ericson plates are still around, or will be later due to manufacture, I would SURE opt to own one.

There is not a single indication anywhere on this boat that says Ericson, for the exception of the hull #. And its obvious looks.

Anyway..

I would be interested in getting one of those as well if they are still available.

Builder's Plate

I have a 1977 E27 Hull #120. Are the Builder's Plates still available? As someone has mentioned previously, there is nothing on the boat indicating who built it other than the HIN on the transom. I would like one. PM me or e-mail the particulars: blueoyster01@msn.com. Happy Thanksgiving to you all and soon I'll say Merry Christmas. For me, it has been an event to be fully thankful for and everyday is Christmas since I became the third owner of "ENCOUNTER". :egrin:

I am working on making them. The idea every once and a while seeks out from under the "honey do" list. I have access to 3 d printer, just looking for a cheaper way to make the mold. I will try have something before spring launch?

I would very much like one for our boat too.
Perhaps that dormant project could be revived? Please??

Possibly this winter

Here is the deal:

I finally perfected a way to cast them 4 at a time instead of 1 at a time.

Just after I had done a test casting of 4 at a time; my furnace, and all of my casting tools, crucibles, etc, were stolen by the person who's building they were being used in. Which has set me back significant amounts of money, and time getting it all together again. Along with somewhere that I can safely run a furnace that spews out 2400 degree air...... Sigh.......

I have the beginnings of the new furnace done, and am working on collecting all the pieces that I need to cast again. I need to pick up a new crucible, fashion some crucible tongs etc.

I am not complaining or whining: I don't make any money making these. Even at 4 at time casting they are all made one at a time when it comes to cutting them off of the runners and sprues etc.

I am going to try to get it all rolling again this winter. When I do, I plan on making them a bunch of them and then putting them back on here for people to purchase. I am trying to get more of them done as I know you guys liked them. The theft of all the tools and supplies needed to make it happen has back winded the project.

Right now it isn't raining and I am working on the boat.

Thanks,
Guy

Dang! As they said in the olden days, "That sucketh mightily!"

If there is a list of tools you need, perhaps you could publish it. It's amazing what talents and backgrounds this group has to offer. :egrin:

Builders Plaque

Guy,

When you are able to get started again, I would really like to purchase one for my Ericson 29. Please post the procedure for purchase (check, money order, etc.). Sorry to hear about your unfortunate loss of tools and equipment.

Smooth sailing.

Builder's Plaque

I just found this thread and I'd love to obtain a plaque when they're made available. What information do you need from me? And how do I make payment? It truly sucks that your equipment was stolen.

Now, more than Ever...

Anyone have any ideas to move this plaque project into the present day?
What with the State of Washington force-retitling middle aged and older boats like Ericson Yachts into new HIN codes for 'homebuilt' we need good 'provenance' to help our boats hold their value and of course we do have Pride of Ownership.
:egrin:

Cast bronze, lazer engraved ss, or something equally classy.

I'd love one, too. Would look great on (what WA now considers) my home-built boat....

Hope a 'thread bump' is OK. I would so much like to have a plaque/plate for our boat. Cast or even engraved or laser produced (?). Actually, bronze is still #1 choice due to tradition, but other metals might be just fine.
(AFAIK, Ericson did not start putting these on until '89 or '90.)

Thanks!
