You won’t find many 35’s that are in this good of condition. I’ve given her an extensive refit, with a lot of love and care. Unfortunately health problems are forcing the sale.
Systems Refit:
Mast was completely stripped and rebuilt from the ground up.
- New black Delrin mastehead sheaves
- ALL...

I always turn into a broad reach before furling up the headsail. Absolutely saves your sail from getting beat up from flagging, and makes it easier to furl.
Some photos of the finished product, with the boat all put back together. Also redid the lifeline stanchions and bases, as well as new deck block organizers to simplify everything.
That’s very good advice. I bought an E35-3 for 20k and have done a complete refit from keel bolts to masthead. Literally every system on the boat I’ve gone through and refit. Probably 30k in parts, and countless man hours. You really have to love working on boats, or it will become an absolute...
Alexseal is virtually the same as awlgrip. I have actually used alexseal with awlgrip converters and reducers. The Alexseal topcoat comes with a much thicker consistency than awlgrip. It needs to be thinned more.
I think the people that developed Alexseal used to work for Awlgrip.
I had a little light crazing on the companionway hatch housing. I didn’t really do anything about it. So far it looks fairly well covered up. All the bigger cracks in the gelcoat I lightly ground out with the dremel and filled with thickened epoxy. I’ll take some closer pictures of both so you...
I did not clear coat. I think Awlgrip clear coat is normally used for dark colors. I rolled and tipped the window frames with the same gray as the non skid. They were in rough shape before.
I was inspired by one of Christian Williams’ posts about his neighbors boat that had the top deck rolled and tipped, as well as adding sand to the existing raised nonskid areas. This project took me about 2 weeks, and I still have a day or two left of touching up some areas where the gray seeped...
This is an old thread, but it’s spring time and I’m back to boat projects. Last summer I painted my cockpit using awlgrip roll and tip method. It’s really not that complicated, you have to pick your application windows and take your time. I would start early on the morning and sand the prior...
I think that’s a good price for your boat. I’d be firm on it. It’s pretty rare to find one that well appointed, maintained, and upgraded. I agree with the previous comment of posting it elsewhere. Like YachtWorld and boat trader. Good luck!
