The mast height for the E32-2 from the deck is 38 feet
The stock mast height for the E32-2 from the deck is 38 feet, add 4 feet for deck to waterline, a foot for a windex or antenna and two more for safety gets you to 45 feet.
I finally measured my 32-3 today with a metal tape measure - ~48’. I hauled the tape up on the main’s halyard as high as it could go (the shackle was at the sheave) = 40’4” to the deck. I mounted a boat hook horizontally on the deck at that same position, using a level to make sure it was horizontal, and dropped a tape to the water: 4’10”. I’m estimating that the first measurement was about 4-6” below the very top of the mast. My VHF antenna stands about 2’6” above the mast.
So, all up, my ‘air draft’ for overhead wires and bridge clearance purposes is…
40’4” + 4’10” + 3’ = ~48’ and change.
The lowest bridge clearance at the normal high-water level on the 800 mile Tennessee-Tombigbee waterway from Knoxville to Mobile (through 15 dams and locks) is 52’ … most are much higher … it’s gonna be a bit nerve-wracking for a few - will need to check current water levels with each dockmaster along the way :-|
