With the number of rain storms coming through the SF Bay area recently, it's given me a good opportunity to see how the bilge pumps on SV Rumour are working -- and not. I realized a while ago that the shower bilge wasn't automatically pumping. No big deal -- water never goes down the shower...
Hi everyone,
I am debugging the shower sump pump on the Ericson 35-3 I recently purchased. There are three yellow wires and two black wires that are present in the wall cupboard in the head that look to connect to an auto/manual three way switch, that is currently disconnected. The switch is...
Wondering if anyone can help me figure out the best way to deal with the shower drain on my '86 E30+.
I'm in the process of doing some refit work - including possibly replacing the cabin sole - and trying to get it more ready for some short distance cruising. I've never used the shower. If I...
Hi all,
We have recently acquired a very well maintained 1985 Ericson 30+ here in Chicago. But, like all older boats with multiple owners, there are mysteries to be solved. So looking for thoughts on this one.
As many know there are 2 bilges on the Ericson 30, the main bilge and the shower...
My wife would dearly like to use the shower in our e-39 but I have been resisting it because it drains into the bilge. Has anyone found the best way to upgrade it so it pumps out through a seacock. What did the later boats do for thier shower?
It's getting to the point where she wants another...
I have been looking at pics of the newer E 34's from the late 80's as a potential liveaboard. I have always liked the 35's and the 34 has almost the same specs just with different interior. Can someone tell me if it has a shower as well?
Thanks!
Glyn you asked if my head pan fitting/drain leads to anything in the bilges like a sump or collection tank and no it does not and did not come with one either. Sven our shower curtain drapes over the toilet seat, we get nothing wet in the head but the shower pan. I guess that I got lucky...
Sven,
First thing to buy if you put in a shower is too get a 100% Nylon shower curtain, we got ours at one of those bed & bath stores. They dry fast, do not mold, light weight and tuck in where you want them for storage. Do not buy plastic whatever you do. I made the shower curtain holder/rod...
My 28 was built with the optional shower. The curtain track is still on the ceiling in the head as well as the tie-backs and snaps for the curtain. The curtain and hooks are not in the boat and I would like to replace them. There are two things I am not sure of;
1) I am not sure what type of...
Here's a good one, can anyone help out here?!? Someone took a sawzall to the shower pan, not sure how they're supposed to look, but this one looks to have been cut apart?!? Will post pic.....
Hello,
Is any one can tell me, if shower bilge section should be connected with main bilge in E32-3?
What kind pumps I should use for shower bilge and for main bilge sections?
Thanks,
Mike

Just to summarize a fun little project that I just finished on my E34:
I tapped into the cold water feed going through the stb. lazarette. Note: there was a "T" that split the pump side into a hose to the water heater (which I had removed a while back) and one going to the head. The water...
Always being on the hunt for more storage, I was wondering if anybody knows what is under the shower seat on an early 38. I was thinking about putting a waterproof door to access the area. There are bolts under the sink and v-berth going into the area, but I doubt they go all the was through...
Do any of you have pictures of shower arrangements in the forward head of an E39B ?
How about a shower sump installation (I believe the stock setup drains into the bilge) ?
Thanks,
-Sven
This is a project I have put off since purchasing our boat a couple years ago. The PO at the time of sale pointed out that the control valve for the shower leaks when you attemt to turn on the shower. My guess is that at some time it froze and has a crack in it. No leaks when the system is...
The shower curtain on my "88 E34 has about had it after all these years. I've been looking around and can't seem to find a replacement. The one I have is probably 5' x 3' with the same attachments as the curtains and all I can find is stock home shower curtains.
Has anyone dealt with...
The hand held shower cord in our 1984 E30+ has developed a crack. It's the one that comes out the top of the tap in the head. None of the chandleries in our area carry a replacement, and there is no discernable manufacturer's name on it to order a replacement.
Does anyone know who made these...
My 1980 E-38, # 3 has been modified from the original set up of a single diaphram pump to operate both the bilge & shower sump.
The PO installed a rule pump with float switch in the bilge. While it seems as though all the bilge chambers have common drain ports, the water from the shower...
I'm the new owner of a 1977 E32 that has a divided head with the sink on the starboard side and the head on the port. Has anyone ever installed a shower on such a boat? If so, how did you do it and how does it drain?
Thanks,
Charles Taylor
Hello All,
My '83 E38 shower drains into the forward most bilge well/sump as I assume all other E38's do? This forward bilge well/sump has a small @1" limber hole fairly close to the bottom of the well. This allows shower gray water to drain back into what I assume is the interior of the TAFG...
On and erIcson 38 I just found that the shower is leaking into the bow under the drawers. There is always water there. Has anyone undertaken this problem and if so are there any suggestions?
The shower stall of my E-38 (1989) came with two of those flat coat hooks that hinge and fold out. Well, one has broken off, and I would like to replace it, but I can't find them, and don't even know what to call them.
Anybody know of a source? (Or even what I'm talking about?) If not I'll...
I've been rebuilding my head, and will need to put in a new shower curtain soon. Does anyone know of a supplier of the type that fit into that small track that came with the boat?
Thanks,
