E-39 shower question

My wife would dearly like to use the shower in our e-39 but I have been resisting it because it drains into the bilge. Has anyone found the best way to upgrade it so it pumps out through a seacock. What did the later boats do for thier shower?

It's getting to the point where she wants another boat with a dedicated shower.

The E-38s with the forward heads have stoppered the most forward bilge section which is just forward of the mast. E38s have the triaxial force grid, which makes this easy.

There is a separate bilge pump and plumbing to it's own above waterline thru-hull under the stern overhang. The pickup screen does get clogged and we have an inline filter close to the pump inlet to catch the escapees. We have a Jabsco diaphragm type pump. It's a long hose run - the pump is about mid-way back to the stern.

This arrangement works OK as long as the screen and the filter are kept clean. The pump with 1/2" hose has has plenty of capacity to keep up with the on-off shower technique.
