  1. Small project: Whale Gusher 10 Mk3 rebuild

E32-200 Small project: Whale Gusher 10 Mk3 rebuild

My boat came with two Whale Gusher 10 Mk3 manual pumps - one for the manual bilge and another to pump out the holding tank. The manual bilge pump was not working (just drawing air instead of water). I removed the pump from inside the starboard rear cockpit locker and detached the inflow and...

    E31C Gusher 10 Replacement - Part 2

Well look here, a valve return spring! Nothing like this on the Gusher 10. Side by side of the deck plates and their gators. The old style was powercoated aluminum and the new one is plastic. Sign of the times, I guess. The holes for the pump arm are identical at 3 inches, but the mounting...

    Whale Gusher 10 pump

I just pulled this pump off my E-28. It was the holding tank pump and I am replacing it with a macerator pump. I fully rebuilt it before deciding to go with the macreator. Knowing what they cost new, make me a reasonable offer. call joe 617 816 2370 or e-mail jgautreau@verizon.net

    Whale Gusher

I used my whale gusher for the first time in years. It would not prime after 25 pumps. The nozzle was under 3 inches of water. I realize the pump is 22 years old. The hose and connections appear fine. Is there a rebuild kit or something I can do to this thing?

    Whale Gusher Titan Pump

One of our spring projects this year included removing a holding tank overboard discharge system along with the associated fittings. It was installed shortly before we purchased the boat 8 years ago and to the best of my knowledge was never actually operated. We are on an inland lake so the...

Manual or diagram for Whale Gusher MK 3 pump ?

Googling for this has stumped me ... I'd just like to see what the insides of a manual Whale pump looks like without having to open the one plumbed into our pumpout plumbing. Thanks, -Sven

Another Blue whale sighting out of San Pedro

Went for a day sail today with my sister and nieces who are visiting this week. Lots of wind, was a very lively sail and we thoroughly enjoyed it (but I really need a dodger, the spray drenched us a couple of times). We sailed down towards the oil platforms and as we approached, we sighted the...

    Whale Gusher 10 waste pump

As I attempted to service the manual pump for the waste pump out, I found it to be beyond service. There is significant corrosion on the flanges and I am unable to remove several of the screws that secure the two flapper valves, even with an impact driver following a PB Blaster soak. I...

    whale pump....

How about some input on how-to... The head pump out (whale pump) on our E 34 "88 with NOT pump up or down. Wow, I looked under the sink and drawer down by the cut off thru hulls and it seems to be leaking too. Is there some easy way to get it out to rebuild? Has any one done this job...

Rare whale sighting in Catalina channel

It took me a while to identify it, but I am pretty sure that we sighted two Sei Whales Sunday at around noon, about 10NM south of Angel's gate on my way back from Avalon. Link: http://www.acsonline.org/factpack/SeiBrydesWhales.htm The whales looked like they had a beak and a dome-like melon, I...

    eyebolt for whale gusher

I am looking for an eyebolt for a Whale gusher 10, MK 3 pump . I contacted whale gusher and West, and they only sell a full kit, for, get this, $100 ! a new pump is only $250, but my pump is fine except for the eyebolt and $100 seems like a lot for an eyebolt. Thanks Neal Weinstein...

    Whale Watching?

I was out Saturday and I was monitoring the VHF. I was listening to the Whale Watching boats. One was getting sightings at Point Vicente and Rocky Point. The other was getting sightings at Catalina around White's Point. Then I got my sighting, a dead 25 footer about a mile off the San Pedro...

    Whale Watch

Its getting close to whale watch time. I usually plan a couple of weekends in January to sail out toward the Coronados from San Diego Bay. I always bring hot chocolate and left over Christmas music and a camera. Last year when we sailed out of the bay we were skunked and never saw any wild...
