I am rebedding pulpits and stanchions. I bought some 4000UV and opened the tube about one week ago to re-seal some deck fastenings. Today we got the refurbished stern sails back on, and the stuff came out of the tube reluctantly, but quite sticky and seems to be working OK. I had to squeeze on the tube purdy hard... anyone know how many days, weeks, hours, etc this product is supposed to last once you open it?

Loren,

That sound like the 4000UV quick cure, unless it wasn't sealed to well. I used mine a few weeks later and didn't notice to much of a change, and that was the quick cure. I would guess based on a little time in the polymer business that it will be fine if it is still workable. Sorry about not answering the working life question once opened. Also, it may have been 4200 quick cure I referring to.

4000 Uv

Loren,

The 4000UV will last longer between uses if kept in the freezer. It goes right next to the 5200 and ice cubes reserved for Dark 'n Stormys.
