I am offering "Why Knot," my 1976 E27, for sale. She is currently berthed at Little Creek Marina, slip D-16.
I purchased the boat to stay on while I was working in the area, and I had hoped to restore her, but my career has taken me elsewhere.
The Atomic 4 will start for someone who knows their way around one, and has a new Oberdorfer water pump, but is missing the air filter and flame arrester and doesn't have an exhaust gas reclaim, so it smokes like a demon.
She has two large genoas and a working jib, the po said they were refurbished, but I cannot verify that. I have never had the rigging tuned, but I can say that, under sail, she shies away from the wind like a scolded dog.
The bottom paint is mostly not there, and she's covered with marine growth.
For my part, I replaced the old head with a Raritan Cricket head, and replaced the holding tank and all associated hoses and fittings, so she no longer smells like a floating septic tank.
I also installed a new bilge pump and replaced the old gate valves with quarter turn ball valves on the old through hulls.
Asking $1500.
