Auction boat

Let’s say I have this friend whose brother’s girlfriend’s cousin’s Grandmother is looking at an abandoned boat that will be coming up for auction soon. Hypothetically it is in cosmetically terrible condition. Imagine she is interested in keeping the other offers really low so she’s entertaining adding an odor to the boat which could easily be cleaned up at a later date. Would she be a bad person and what would she use?

I think if Grandmama wants the boat maybe grandmama should just pay the (I'm assuming) pretty reasonable price?!? Never look a gift horse in the back end!
