We're in Florida, "Land of the Barnacle" The last time we hauled out (3yrs ago), to do the bottom, the old salts had a "secret weapon" of adding cayenne pepper to the bottom paint. I suspect even Heloise didn't know about that one! It seemed to have worked out fine, but it did make the paint more course and remarks about our "stucco" finish were made. We're using Trinidad SR, which I believe is a non-ablative paint. Outside of gullibility, anyone have an opinion about this?
