E27 dodger

I have a dodger on my e27. Your concerns about mainsheet operation are valid. My dodger has a zippered window that will roll up in the middle facing forward, so for 'active' sailing it provides easy access. The advantages of the dodger seem to be great, it allows me to keep the companionway hatch open during bad weather, making the cabin feel a lot bigger. Also, I have a tiller, it allows me to hunker down under the dodger during bad weather sailing. It is also really easy to take off for daysailing with a cockpit full of people. I wish I had some closeup pics of the setup, but it basically attaches to the crossmember which supports the traveler. Hope that helps.
