what years was the ericson 32 mark lll built. have to know as phrf ratings differ on four models built. thanks

Hi Geoff, welcome. I am not sure that years built matters as the 32-3 was pretty much the same throughout it's production, I think. The only possible differences I can think of is the keel type. Our local rating org rates all 32-3s as the same. See the link.

32-3 stuff
The 32-3 was produced from 1985-1990 by Ericson. They offered different interior layouts and keel options. We have a 32-3 1987 shoal draft which we race here on Galveston bay. Pacific Seacraft built essentially the same boat from 1991-1998 as well. Our base rating is 162. We sail non-spin (plus 22) plus 3 for a roller furler headsail. our rating is 187. It was 193 ( 3-blade fixed prop) removed so lost 6 secs per mile. We sail in the floating handicap fleet and have done very well. Too well in fact because our rating has been cut to 162. Check out Galveston Bay PHRF website. The other 32-3 has a base of 156. I believe it is beacause he has a 6.2 draft..
