Ericson 35-3 for $5,000

Prairie Schooner

Jeff & Donna, E35-3 purchased 7/21

Facebook Marketplace, Boston, MA

Nope, it's not ours. I don't know anything about the boat or the owner. But it could be a good score for someone looking for a project boat. He doesn't mention the sole as a project, but it looks abysmal. So it's likely other surprises await.

Is that a Yanmar?
And, the visible interior looks pretty rough and sad. With the knowledge gained from our recent re-fit, this would potentially cost more to restore than we spent.
Of course, when finished it would be a larger Ericsonn with nicer accommodations, but still with equivalent sea-keeping capabilities.
If the asking is 5K, I wonder if the actual selling price will be even lower? :(

IF.... someone had access to a similar repair facility as we were able to use, this might take the better part of a year to complete. And maybe north of 100K.
(On the plus side, fully restored, you'd have to spend 350K to 400K on a new semi-custom vessel to equal it. So, there's that.)

Something seems a bit off on that one. I'd think that the Yanmar cleaned up and painted alone would be worth north of 5k.
