Once you figure out the amount of mast rake, the trick is to repeat it the next time the rig goes back up. I used a set of calipers and measured the inner distance between the turnbuckle screws on the forestay for a quick reference. (write down the distance measured and put it where you can find it) Over time, things will stretch a bit, but it will get you in the ballpark and by then you will know what to boat is capable of doing to make the fine tuning.
