Oh dear. 
Can you post some photos? Is yours a mid sheeted boom like mine. I have always been a bit concerned about the mid sheeted system because in involved so many (3) rivited on bails. Where was the break?

There are probably cheaper options than RigRite, especially in Florida. I spoke to Ballenger Spars here on the west coast a couple of years ago when I was refinishing my boom. Even with refinishing it was impossible to get rid of all the corrosion so now it's back; I am thinking it will soon be time to call Ballenger again. I'll just give them all the measurements and specs or take the original boom to them and have them make a new one.
Probably not too likely to find be the "right" one...
