New Camera

I watched a you tube Ericson video the other day. The creator prefaced it by saying that "it was not up to the Jeff Asbury standard".:)

Thanks Dave. Hopefully they will be even better soon. I am experimenting with the video settings to get the best resolution and the smallest file sizes. This camera is capable of 1080 HD and even 3D. It's very simple to use. Also has a 30X zoom, but can be a little hard to stabilize with the zoom all the way out on a moving platform such as a boat. I have one minute clips down to about 80 mega bytes. I got this camera as a clearance item at Target for $139. A friend wanted one, but they no longer had them at Target. It's amazing how inexpensive digital cameras have become. I was thinking about getting a Nikon D3100 SLR, but I would need to buy two lenses for a total just under $500. to do what this camera does.

You can get the general info at Amazon, but I bet you could get it cheaper elsewhere.

Video

Hi Jeff
What a great video to take a break from work with! Still three feet of snow in NH. So looking out the window does not work, yet.
Best Regards
Pat

Great quality vid Jeff!

Your boat looks like fun.

At at the end of your video tour of Pride of Cucamonga, the last words you say are, "Look at the size of that T"

What was the word that was cut off? Lol!

"Tiller". I don't know why YouTube censors me.

Were you able to capture any of the whales on video last Sun?

I don't capture whales. Have you seen Blackfish?

Nope, no video, only saw the one spout about 1/4 mile from where I was at off Pt. Firmin. Watched the whale watching boats chasing them though. Listened to the constant chatter on the VHF from the Skippers of the two whale watching boats zipping back and fourth between Pt. Fermin & Portuguese Bend all day long.

The stuff

Great resolution. What size is that file? What's the stuck you boat is in? Ours is white and hard.
That stuff is melted snow and ice. You might remember it, WARM WATER. Winter is finally here in So Cal, an inch or two of rain on the way!
