Portholes - 2

The opening plastic-framed portholes on our "new" E39-B show evidence of past leakage. I don't know if these leaks are due to failed bedding or of the plastic frames just don't hold their shape well enough to give a tight seal ?

I noticed that the E38 lying next to us has SS-framed portholes. Were these a later Ericson option or are they standard equipment that is still available ? I suspect they are expensive but if they would help prevent future leaks it might be worth it. If they are just shinier we'll have to pass.

Thanks for any insights,

When PSC started producing the 38 they put SS framed opening ports in, I do believe.

Not on the E-333

My son's 1998 PS/E-333 has all Lewmar ports and Hatches.

I like them much better than the plastic or SS ports that have a spigot sticking out. That spigot has a habit of removing skin from passing ankles.
