Recirculating Head

I need some help...I have a 1972 Ericson 29, it has the Kracor recirculating head option. There is even a portion about it in the owner's manual, unfortunately it does not possess enough information. It gives me the amount of chemical to mix...But that is it...How much if any water do I add ? How do I use the hand pump out function ?

Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.
