I still refitting my Ericson 27. I already replace all window, remove all electric wires and yesterday, on a very suicidal way, I removed the water tank (behind the diesel tank), the diesel tank (in a side of the lectrascan system) and the Lectrascan, among off course, become intimate with number 1 and 2 coming from the head.
I'm sure there is a very sophisticated way to do this job without end with poop all around your arm but I never find it. Any plumbing change includes a very deep descend to human waste, at least, on sailboats.
The old diesel tank is in generally good condition but start to show corrosion all around the floor so it's time to replace it. I found out brand new Moeller 19 gallons is around $200 so I'm looking for suggestions. Small one? maybe a different brand??
Regarding the water tank, it was plumbed with a garden hose and the condition was deplorable so I think to install two flexible Plastimo tanks. I used it before and always was great!
After finish with plumbing area, everything is ready to paint inside.
The lectrascan is a no working unit so I will replace with a compost unit, anyway, a 27 is just a daysailing sailboat.
