Has anyone removed a floor section of the teak and holly sole? I removed the screws of one section, but the section will not release. Suggestions or method would be wonderful. I'm trying to access the drain hose from the ice box and shower.

On my daughters 36c the screws are ornamental and it is 1/4” glued down and it is delaminating.
The ugly spot beside the hole is where I chiseled the 1/4” up now left with replacing the whole faux sole and maybe cutting the plastic out from underneath to gain access to hoses and wiring and get some extra storage space.
GOOD LUCK

There are several related links within this great thread.
Pour yourself a cup of coffee and read thru it.

Also, would you like the title of this thread changed to reflect the part of the boat being asked about? "Floors" are the structure beneath the cabin sole.
Regards,
Loren

I installed a new teak an holly sole in our 34-2 and had the same problem after removing the screws. After a lot of cutting and prying I discovered that the boards were glued in place with clear silicone.
Chance are you won't get the piece up without damaging it.

Thanks John, after reading the posted info i'm not even going to try. I do think its a shame the areas are not accessable, but I guess we can't have everything!

Been there, done that. Not my boat but here are pictures of the glued down sole removal on Alan Gomes' E26-2. The tool of the day, a multi-tool, is visible in the first pic and as can be seen, the process is total destruction. Thanks, Ericson.
