Rudder & Tiller Connection

The casting on top of the rudder post, where the tiller attaches, of my Ericson 26 has cracked and needs replacing. Does anyone know of a source for this part?

Also it seems like a good time to replace the tiller, has anyone used one from West Marine?

Here's a photo of my E26's tiller attachment. It is badly worn and often the bolts come loose while we are sailing. It frightens me that it is so loose. If some one knows where to get one of these I would appreciate it.

Robert and Jim,

I have a 1969 E23 and also need a replacement part for this assembly. A gent in one of the other forums pointed me toward Edson Marine (http://www.edsonmarine.com/) and they have exactly the part in your photo, Jim. However, mine looks a little different but I think it may work. The part ranges between $232 and $401 depending on bronze or chrome and size.
