Running Masthead transducer cable to helm

So, it’s got to go inside the headliner, and then THROUGH the bulkhead/wall between the head and companionway into the cockpit locker.

i plan to collect all the analog signals in a Raymarine ITC-5 and send it on through the backbone to the helm.

Bur the question is,”how to get from the mast to the cockpit locker?”

Advice please?

When I put in all new electronics, I found that Ericson had built in a few conduits for wiring through the bilge. Those conduits are actually 1" vinyl hose, and they are run pretty much where one would want wiring runs. If you can find any conduits and their end points, it may greatly simplify your work. Start your search in the nav station area. Also, rather than run my wind instrument cable and other wiring overhead from the mast, I had a new hole drilled low in the mast so those wires could exit there and then into a settee locker before entering a bilge conduit.

Also, I found a glow-in-the-dark fish tape to be tremendously useful for finding and populating wiring pathways anywhere on the boat.

Finally, if any of the zippers in the headliner are still operable, it is recommended that you operate them, and maybe lube them, a couple times or more each season so they don't sieze up, as they will do if neglected.

When I drop that teak collar down a bit (remove two screws), and unzip the side towards the location of the main panel, there is a factory-drilled hole visible with the 12 volt wires, coax, and wind instrument wiring coming out. These are all above the vinyl headliner. All the wires were led forward to the top of a nearby bulkhead and thence over and down to the deck level, concealed by the teak trims over the top and side of the bulkhead. A bit fiddly to work on but not too difficult.
