Sailrite new Website

My account, many years old, was not transferred to the new site. I had to register as a new user. So, no more purchase history (I have asked them if they can relink it, as Defender eventually did.) This is one of the irritations of purchasing on line, where apparently histories can't be easily migrated when site software becomes obsolete.

Sunbrella at Sailrite was $38 a yard. I was able to order the same fabric from Kinder Industries at $32 a yard. Shipping about the same. My default loyalty to Sailrite was lost along with my purchase history.

Yes, I got into this with them back in May when they made the conversion. Like you, I asked and I was assured it was "not possible" for them transfer or link the history. I thought it was more likely they didn't want to pay for the developers to do the extra work, but we'll never know.

Upon request, they were able to give me a report of all my purchase history which included SKU at time of purchase, description, quantity, price at time of purchase, and date last purchased. They were also able to give a report of what was in my cart and wish list. Not as helpful as having it in the site, but was workable for the 40 or so SKUs I had purchased over the years.

Good to know about Kinder. The next time I need canvas, I'm going to likely get it from SewKnot.com as they carry the color that matches my other canvas (Sailrite has started to prefer Sattler).

Christian, I feel your frustration. Remember the old days when you called and got a live person? A person who knew you and your purchas history. Maybe in short time AI will get better and we'll get that sort of feeling again. Hopefully the AI person doesn't get deleted or retire :-/

This is pretty funny, y'all Sailrite sent out multiple emails letting their customer base know to print out(print to PDF) their purchase history before they rolled the systems. You played yourself if you didn't listen to their recommendation, but yeah blame one of the most customer oriented marine companies around. Also, on pricing... if you make a business account which is easy you get massive discounts. My wife started doing canvas work during covid and started an LLC as a hobby so I know this first hand. She gets Sunbrella for about$ 20/yd through Sailrite. First world problems am I right?

They did send me yesterday my purchase history--$4K over 12 years. Not convenient but better than nothing.

Alas, I don't really keep up with unsolicited email from suppliers.

That did the same for me - I was doing some back-years research on taxes I had paid at various on-line venders in a particular year.
