I use one to attach the genoa sheets to the sail. With an eye splice in each sheet the attachment is very quick and there is less bulk to bang around on deck or get caught in things during a tack. I also made up some with hollow core poly rope of 1/4 and 3/8 thickness for practice and use them for non-strength critical applications like on the tender, fenders etc.
