A Note on sticky-back veneer from Rockler, in this case teak:

A while back I sprung for a roll of sticky-back teak veneer from Rockler, which was about $100. I have used it quite a bit. Any piece of plywood becomes teak in seconds, and it can be varnished or oiled to taste. Anyone contemplating ongoing small veneer projects might consider stocking some.

Pics: 1. the large square is teak, the larger piece under it is veneered ply. 2 The original panel cover, with rectangle of blue tape. 3. The replacement panel is sticky veneer.

I got some lightening by sanding with 120 grit. I ran out of time to finish sanding and inspecting. I sanded through the finish in the lighter spots but I don't think I sanded through the teak veneer. I'm waiting on the Te-Ka cleaner/bleach to arrive and try before I go gonzo with sanding.
Great tips on the Oxalic acid. I've never used hot water or had my work piece in the sun. Also never tried multiple coats.
