Walter V-Drive ratios E41/45

I've tried ever forum and resource I can think of but, do the larger Ericson's all have 2.00:1 gear ratio V-drives? I've found several boats in the 40+ ft class (other builders) that that are selling their V-Drives and have 1.00:1 ratio drives. My case is severely corroded and need to replace it or have it rebuilt. How many owners know their drive ratios?
Thanks.

I believe that the Valiant 40 had a similar/same V drive. (Some friends of our cruised one of those for a decade, and did have to replace/rebuilt it about the time that they left.)
No technical knowledge of those drives, have I.

The gear ratio is how your prop pitch is determined, I.E. gear ratio with prop pitch is similar to gear ratio + rear end differential ratio + tire size determines engine speed at a given vehicle speed in cars. So if you switched from a 2.00:1 drive to a 1.00:1 the only thing that you would have to do is switch the prop pitch to the appropriate one. This is a long winded way of saying that if 1 to 1 drives are all you can find out there now, all is not lost. You can go with the 1 to 1 and an appropriate prop and be fine.

My 41 had the Westerbeke and the V drive hauled out of it and a newer Yanmar with direct drive put in, before I bought it. Honestly, that's the deciding factor in why I bought this one and not an equally nice one that was available, with the original setup in it.
