Powerboat. No Ballast. Given that the average person nowadays weighs somewhere around 200#, that could be 5400# on a lightly-built power boat. A (very sad) recipe for trouble.

You have to wonder how many were on the flying bridge (I think that is what it is called up top) these boats are top heavy at best. I like low ballast and a low profile of sailboats.

Unfortunately there are more boat owners than sailors. It seems everywhere I go there is someone getting away with stupid stuff.

Typically, I think, the manufacturers call for a 1000# limit on the fly bridge of boats in the 34 foot range. That's somewhat under twenty people IIRC.
