Somehow never did a blog before. Some pics and vids of my first sail of the new to me Ericson 28+ on Sandusky Bay and out towards Kelleys Island.
Hope I got this blog things formatted good. Have already learned videos are not compatible.
Motor temp spiked when right outside the marinas breakwall. Anchored for a moment because i really wanted to motor around a bit. Freetime is a nearly 7ft jump from my previous boat. Oh, and the first boat i self taught how to sail less than 5 years ago. Did have some pre-teen to teenage experience power boating. Anyways, more worried about motoring around the marina, than sailing. Decided the anchor spot was too busy. Put up the main, pulled up the anchor, and backwinded the main to get it moving under sail. Got clear of others and the busy spots and the motor repeated its shenanigans. Planned on motoring practice and putzing about the bay to find the flow of single handing the boat. So yea, nah, winds easy and steady, the day is just getting more beautiful, lets just hit the channel and head out to the lake. Boat sailed great, did most of the work on the way out by Kelleys island. Shifting winds on the way back meant i had to do something beside enjoy the sun and scenery.
I am feeling like I am writing the first page on the books cover. Think I'll save and see what I just did. Yep, thats exactly what I did. See, told ya I never blogged before. So now this is under the first blog entry and I will have to go fix everything else. Ill leave these General Sailing, post some pics of the learning process, and who know what else.
