Once the boat was in my bay and on it's stands the work could begin. Since the hull had such severe blistering and I knew I had to do extensive osmosis repair, I wanted to get the hull stripped so it could start drying. Once stripped, the hull could just sit and dry while I got started on other projects. Due to the severity of the blistering I wanted to completely strip the gelcoat off to bare fiberglass. This is a horrible job and one that I do not wish to repeat any time soon. It took about 16 hours and I created 4 five gallon buckets of dust. after the gelcoat was stripped the blisters were opened up and then the hull washed for several days in a row to remove any residue. After all that the hull was left to dry.
