I was starting to feel pretty good about the sump situation,
but once you start cutting, it becomes an addiction. There was the Great Rotten Galley Removal of '17..
The delaminated cabin sole liner..
1/3rd way through cleaning here.. (PS when using mineral spirits, wear a vapor respirator. I got sick for 3 days after a half hour of this..)
And once i'd gotten that fairly clean, the sad discovery that the compression post step was completely destroyed, rotten, delaminated, came apart like sheets of paper plywood. Furthermore it wasn't that well installed in the first place from the factory -- gobs of ericson polyester goo and a couple of poorly wetted out thin glass tabs.
At this point I had to take a step back. My job situation changed around this time, it's too hot to work on a boat in phoenix in the summer, and I had some soul searching to do. This boat
really was a complete rebuild. I needed to figure out what I wanted out of her to get my inspiration back. After a long hiatus of 12 hour work days and a hot summer, it was time to come up with a plan.
