E32-3 Replacing rusty stuffing box hose clamps

The rusty stuffing box hose clamps was listed by the surveyor as a category A issue. He defined category A as "Violation of structure, seaworthiness, or watertight integrity." Luckily this is the only category A issue.

I replaced the rusty hose clamps with 316 stainless steel (band and screw) smooth band hose clamps from McMaster. While removing the old rusty hose clamps, the two with the rusty screws fell apart. Of the other two, the band on one of them is severely cracked.

The hose diameter measured at 2-1/4" with a caliper so I order SAE hose clamps size 36, with Clamp ID range of 1-3/4" to 2-3/4", however, perhaps size 32, 1-1/2" to 2-1/2" is sufficient and won't leave such a long tail.
