The work on Triocha has continued but the blog posts have not. I will endeavor to catch you all up on my progress. Due to an increased work load and other life issues I have had to take a couple extended breaks from project.
The next project was to gut the interior. The bulkheads were rotted and oil soaked. Also this boat had an integrated sole and very poor bilge access. Due to the poor bilge access there were pockets of the bilge that were filled with oily greasy water that could not be cleaned. I would change this when rebuilding her interior. It did take too long to completely gut the interior and after a trip to the dump I could start to degrease the bilge.
I had to carry 5 gallon buckets of hot water with dawn dish soap up the 12 foot ladder, scrub the bilge and suck up the greasy water with a wet vac, then carry the full wet vac down the ladder. This went on for two weeks, until the bilge was clean enough to recoat with Bilgecoat paint.
