It does clear it, just. As far as your earlier question regarding the arch. Currently it is bolted down flat. When you take it off it may bow so that it does not lie flat.

30 sounds high to me, not knowing the wire dimension but on a 23' I would guess it's on the smaller side and 30 is getting up there on the gauge for the smaller...

I can tell you when I did mine there was no conduit in the mast. There is however a short and to my mind, narrow tube on the mast plate that all the wires must pass through. the difficulty I found is that this tube does not line up straight with the hole in the ceiling liner coming into the head...

Here's the first one I painted with Cetol. Just one coat so far. It's definitely a match for what's there albeit glossier. I believe this to be original, there is no evidence this was taken apart previously.
That looks more how my interior handrails came out. I used teak oil and then shellac. Nice shine really sharp. But I need to match the existing on this part, so the Cetol looks the trick. I sanded the boards and they are very different in terms of grain and color and therefore how they accepted...
