I think this includes Christian, but probably others as well.

Fingers crossed on all of your behalves.

PS: For those of you not in CA, the fires in the news appear to be in that immediate area.

I think that Mr. Williams lives in Pacific Palisades, which is getting the worst of the destruction. The news reports are apocalyptic.

Hoping for the best for him and everyone else affected by these fires. Absolutely horrible.

I read on Facebook last night that Christian has retreated to his boat and feels that his house is probably gone. What a disaster this has become and it’s something that us on the east coast can’t fathom. My first mate and I are praying for those impacted. It does seem that something could have been done beforehand to prevent the spread of the fires but I probably just don’t understand the scope of the situation.

Jesus, that is horrible news to read. Really hoping his house is not gone.

Thanks for all the notes. Boats are fine, our house of 35 years is gone, along with those of all neighbors. We're now in a Santa Monica hotel.. We are all much like Maui fire, no possessions, but all options open. This is a natural disaster of biblical proportions, unimaginable really, and there is no sense of being singled out.

Man, I am SO glad to hear that you and yours are okay. Like you, many of my friends in the Palisades and Malibu (and Hollywood Hills) bugged out with very few possessions beyond pets and wallets/purses. The devastation is literally scorched earth. I'm also glad MDR didn't get savaged, so at least Thelonius II is a safe harbor for you.

The scope of devastation is absolutely mind-boggling.

Be well, my friend...

Christian and Tracy, so incredibly sorry for you. I actually have never met a more generous and available person in my 62 years. Completely shocked by what I see on the news. Pacific Palisades devastated.

Is there a GoFund for members of this site? Let's get it going. Let's go members.

Wow. Words can’t describe coming back to news today and reading about this apocalypse. Glad to hear you and your family are physically OK Christian. When you can, please let us know what we can do to help you and your community.

That is rough. I hope you were at least able to save some of your most valued, if not most valuable, possessions.

When I used to watch the fires east of San Diego I at least had the reassurance that I could head out to sea if necessary. None of it was ever anything like as bad as what is happening now.

I think Glyn Judson was also in that area, I| hope he is ok.
