We are heading over in the AM (Saturday) and hoping to get a mooring. If we can't get a can we'll try Cat harbor or anchoring if Cat reports full too.
Any suggestions for Isthmus anchoring ?
Anyone else going out ?

Photos of Ericson's Under Sail Day! Aug. 3rd!
After getting messages from Meanolddad (Greg, Regulus II), Bill Upchurch (Bill, Golden Girl), Mikebat (Mike,Valinor), The consensus is to wait until Sunday August 3rd. I have talked to Greg and we are going to shoot for meeting at the area around...
Saw a bunch of Ericson's out, in and around LA Harbor on Labor Day.
I saw and shared friendly hello's with a beautifully restored E-23 with blue stripes in Hurricane Gulch. I also saw what looked to be a E-38 yellow stripes at the same time, the name was "Golden", something. Also saw a...
One of the guys at my club crewed on a boat in the Fugawi in MA over Memorial Day past. I haven't heard the whole deal but he said the only boat they couldn't catch was an E38! Wondering if anyone on the board was the culprit? RT
Great afternoon of sailing Wednesday afternoon. We got a few miles outside of the lighthouse off San Pedro and just played in the 15+ knots of breeze and 8 ft. rollers.
It was my first time really getting this boat out in the open water and seeing what she could do. What a blast and a pure...
My wife and I had such a great first season's sail on the bay this past Sunday I just had to write in here about it. It was especially sweet because it comes after a particularly hard winter for me recovering from a major illness (cancer) that left me just wiped out after the...
So, anyone else planning on hitting opening day of Rockfish season via their Ericson this year?

Current plans are to head out Friday so we can have an early easy wake-up on the water for Saturday's fun.
Please vote if you will attend Port Townsend Father's day weekend. I will be making reservations for us March 15th. Please respond yes or no and then put comments in the other thread so I can keep it simple.
thanks

Well, it's that time of the year, again! Today, September 19, is International Talk Like A Pirate Day (TLAP) & "arrrrrr" can be used for all manner of meanings, me hearties!
So, ye scurvy dogs, set sail for the TLAP home page for more information...
We are gearing up to do our first long cruise... 5 days is long for us. From everything we know and have checked, our boat is seaworthy so we feel comfortable in knowing that there are no glaring issues.
We will be coastal cruising and will be within a safe range of land at all times but...
Yesterday was perfect! About a fifteen knot breeze in the Santa Barbara Channel. We had a nice day sail to Anacapa & back. Coming back, I felt a bit cocky, so we hoisted the gennaker! Overall, it was a nice mostly downwind ride, but we were a bit overpowered in gusts. I got sore shoulders from...
Went out on an E35 today, out of Newport Beach. It was absolutely perfect - sunny, not hot, and a great 12-15 knot breeze that made that E boat honk!
Anybody else go out today?
Just wondering - what are the odds of snagging a mooring next Saturday at Two Harbors? Would the fact that many people have a three day weekend (Martin Luther King day) mean that all the moorings would be taken by noon Saturday?
I'm thinking of a two day trip next weekend - coming back Sunday...

We're going to head over to Paradise Cove for the three-day holiday if the weather stays good.If large southerly swells show up we'll punt, but other than that it should be great.
Is anybody else headed that way this coming weekend ?

The title pretty much says it all. This Labor Day weekend we will be heading up to Drake's Bay. Sail up on Saturday and then back on Monday.
If any other Ericson owners are considering the same plan, it would be fun to see you.

It is now official. If anyone else is interested. I am holding a Skipper's Meeting to discuss plans to cruise to the Channel Islands during the week of Labor Day 2004. So far there are two Ericson...

We'll be heading to the Coronado Islands for the Labor Day weekend and would love the company of any of you So Cal Ericson owners.
Have a safe and enjoyable weekend and please say hello if you make it out there.
Cheers.

I will be sailing to St. Helens on Saturday down the mainstem of the Columbia, probably spending the night at Sand Island. Then we will take another day or two to work our way back up the Multnomah Channel.
If anyone wanted to join us, you would be welcome.
Thanks,
Nick
